By Texans, for Texans.

Texas Backyard Homes Guide connects homeowners with contractors, architects, and trade professionals who have real, verifiable ADU experience across the Lone Star State.

Our mission is simple: make it easier for Texas homeowners to find professionals who have actually built ADUs — not just ones who say they can.

Finding a qualified ADU professional in Texas used to mean sifting through generic contractor directories, reading vague reviews, and hoping for referrals that never came. We built Texas Backyard Homes Guide to fix that — a single, searchable, Texas-specific directory where every listing tells you what the pro has actually built, where they've built it, and how to reach them directly.

Why we built this

ADU projects are one of the most personal construction decisions a homeowner can make. You’re adding living space to your own property — for a parent, a child, a tenant, or yourself.

Getting it wrong is expensive. Getting it right changes everything.

We started Texas Backyard Homes Guide because we kept running into the same problem: great ADU professionals doing incredible work across Texas — in Austin backyards, DFW garages, Houston side lots — with almost no online presence to show for it.

Meanwhile, homeowners were landing on national directories full of out-of-state contractors or paying for leads that went nowhere.

As more cities in Texas allow ADUs, we realized that homeowners may struggle to find quality builders, architects, and professionals to help them with their project.

So we built the directory we needed. One that starts with real project histories. One that’s only Texas. One that respects both sides — the homeowner who needs help and the professional who has earned their reputation.
